Sio2OSX - Connect your Atari 8-bit computer to a Macintosh running OS X

Although it requires a certain USB->Serial adapter, Sio2OSX looks like a nifty solution to storage needs for your Atari 8-bit computer:

Sio2OSX is a peripheral emulator for the Atari 8-bit computers that allows the Atari computer to use an OSX based Macintosh as a disk drive, a cassette drive, and a printer. Sio2OSX peforms functions similar to APE or SIO2PC on Windows based computers.

Harry Porter’s Relay Computer

Relays make a click when they switch, and I wonder how loud this machine is when calculating!

KansasFest 2006

KFest 2006, which bills itself as Summer Camp for Geeks, will take place July 18th through the 21st at Rockhurst University in Kansas City, Missouri.

What’s KFest, you ask? Well, it’s an annual gathering of Apple II and Macintosh junkies. People who get a kick out of driving old hardware to do surprising things, or who simply have a nostalgia for the good old days of computing. We have sessions in which we learn new ways to use our older gear, as well as ways to take advantage of the latest technology.

Full screen video on a 8088

From Google Video, a full screen demo:

Color video running at 30 frames per second, with audio, on an original 4.77MHz 8088 IBM PC Model 5150 with 640K RAM, CGA video, 10MB drive, and Sound Blaster Pro.

No tricks, this is for real! This kind of speed is only achievable using text mode (!) and 8088 assembler.
