Full screen video on a 8088
From Google Video, a full screen demo:
Color video running at 30 frames per second, with audio, on an original 4.77MHz 8088 IBM PC Model 5150 with 640K RAM, CGA video, 10MB drive, and Sound Blaster Pro.
No tricks, this is for real! This kind of speed is only achievable using text mode (!) and 8088 assembler.

only prob with this is the orig model 5150 didnt have
a SB pro or much of the other hardware… but still
impressive.

Yea, I wasn’t too impressed when I read about the SB Pro. It looks like everything else was available at the time, although I bet 640K of RAM would’ve been pricey!

LOL the 5150 shipped with only 64k not 640 and some shipped
with only 16k! They also came with 160k 5 1/4 ” floppy’s
not 10 meg hard drives… we already covered the sound card..
I mean, it’s STILL impressive and cool, but Im more impressed
with the new demo’s they make on the 2600 (for example) which
use the original stock hardware and push it to unthinkable
levels.
